At the beginning of 2021, Vitrociset spa, a company of the Leonardo Velivoli Group, launched a tender for the construction of a campus for the new IFTS (International Flight Training School) flight school located within the Decimomannu Air Base (Ca), finalized to train pilots coming not only from Italy but also from Germany, Austria, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Japan and other nations will soon join. The school is aimed at training pilots on 4th and 5th generation combat aircraft.
The school is spread over an area of 130,000 m2 where the GBTS buildings, the sun-shelters, the Hangar and the Hangarettes , logistical structures such as sports facilities, canteen and accommodation.
Impresa Manca performed the foundation structures of:
– GBTS building
– Hangar building
– Sun Shelter
– Hangarette
– Structures for fire-fighting tanks with related pump rooms.
